Axis 360 is Baker & Taylor’s digital media platform and offers both eBooks and eAudioBook subscriptions. The eBooks come in both ePub and Blio formats, which requires an additional app download in order to read. Blio books are full-color and layout versions of your favorite print books.
How does the Axis 360 Integration work?
Currently Axis 360 can only be accessed through a link out to a library’s specific Axis 360 webpage. The Boopsie app launches an in-app browser that allows patrons to access your Axis 360 content.
Boopsie and Axis 360 are working together to improve usability by creating a seamless integration between your library app and your Axis 360 subscription.
Benefits of Axis 360
Adding even a link to your library’s Axis 360 content in your library app drives your subscription usage. Kenton County Public Library has seen a 120% increase of usage in just the first three months of 2014 as compared to 2013.
The Axis 360 Integration in Action
Until the integration between Boopsie and Axis 360 is completed, patrons will access your subscription through your library app’s built-in browser. The Axis 360 site is mobile responsive, so it displays well on your smartphone or tablet.
Patrons can browse through your library’s eBooks, eAudioBooks or a compilation of the two on the “Magic Wall”, or the homepage. There is a search feature that allows patrons quickly find a specific title, or they can choose to search by new additions, popular titles, “Hidden Gems” or recently returned books. Patrons can access their checkout list, items that they already have on loan, their wish list as well as their hold queue. eAudioBooks require the download of the Acoustik app, while eBooks can be accessed by either the AxisReader app (for ePub and PDF eBooks) or the Blio Reader app.
If your library has an Axis 360 subscription and you’d like to add it to your library app, let us know.
